Forks of the Sky is a collection of day-use areas along Washington’s scenic Highway 2 near the town of Index. Big Eddy : East of Gold Bar, Highway 2 crosses the Skykomish River at Big Eddy, a public water access providing picnic areas and restrooms along the scenic river. Raptor Point : Just east of Anderson Creek and before the town of Index, Raptor Point provides undeveloped trail access to the Skykomish River. Town Wall : Next to the town of Index, the Stimson Bullitt Climbing Preserve provides rock climbers varying levels of challenge on the “Town Wall” formations. Just to the east of the climbing area, a trail leads to the top of Upper Town Wall with breathtaking views of Mt. Index and the town of Index. Picnic Bend : East of Index, Picnic Bend features a trail through alder and fern forest to undeveloped picnic spots along the Skykomish River.
