Kitsap Memorial

Kitsap Memorial

Kitsap Memorial State Park is a 58-acre camping park with 1,797 feet of saltwater shoreline and facilities for group and individual recreation, weddings and overnight stays. The park offers beautiful natural surroundings and sweeping views of Hood Canal. Kitsap County requested the inclusion of “memorial” in the park’s name at the time of original land donation from the county. The name reflects the wishes and efforts of the original members of the Vinland Community Club, who sought to establish a “North Kitsap Memorial Park” in honor of Henry Brown. Mr. Brown was the person who first proposed dedicating the land for community use. He also established the first permanent buildings on the site.
